AIRWIDE SOLUTIONS TO ENHANCE LEAP'S MESSAGING SOLUTIONS

airwide solutions Helps Leap's Cricket®Service
Increase SMS Capacity, Improve Service Availability

Boston, MA - December 6, 2005 - airwide solutions, a global leader in providing mobile infrastructure software to enable, enhance and ensure mobile communications for wireless operators, today announced it will work with Leap Wireless International, Inc. [NASDAQ: LEAP] to increase Leap's Cricket short-message-service (SMS) capability and improve the availability of text messaging.
airwide will strengthen Cricket's messaging infrastructure by replacing its existing SMS network infrastructure with a more scalable, geographically diverse architecture. By deploying dedicated air'n'able text platforms in multiple locations, Cricket will be able to deliver a high level of service availability without the overhead cost of managing clustered software. When one SMSC undergoes maintenance or is otherwise unavailable, traffic will be diverted onto one of Cricket's remaining SMSCs. This robust, stable infrastructure will enable Cricket to handle large volumes of SMS traffic and provide a solid foundation for the growing demand for messaging services.

Richard McDowell, airwide's vice president of sales, noted that SMS traffic in the United States has nearly tripled in the last 18 months. "As a result, carriers need to re-evaluate their messaging infrastructure," he said. "They can work with airwide solutions to install more reliable SMSCs that can meet increased demand and deliver consistent, high-quality service."

All air'n'able text messages will be managed on the airwide management platform called airmanager. This provides a centralized system so Cricket can monitor, configure and manage all of its SMSCs and associated messaging gateways as a whole entity.

Leap's director of new technology, Chris Demange, stressed the importance of carriers reacting to new trends in messaging demand quickly - without disruption to customers - given the fiercely competitive and fast-paced wireless industry. "The increase in SMS traffic across our network in recent months signaled a need for us to re-examine our messaging capabilities as quickly as possible," he said.

"Having worked with the team at airwide in the past," Demange continued, "we believe they have the experience and capabilities to give us a cost-effective, infrastructure that will scale to meet increasing traffic demand. We look forward to continuing our relationship with airwide to strengthen our messaging abilities and increase our market leadership position."
