Software Engineer : AirGate Multi Messaging
Location: Espoo office
Duties and Responsibilities
- To carry out product support and maintenance
- To carry out detailed design, code, unit test and product testing
- To report on progress, planning issues, and problems
- To communicate freely with other project members to ensure an efficient and successful project.
- To liaise with Product Architect/Design Authority regarding the product functionality & design
- To review the work of peers & the Product Architect/Design Authority
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- Java programming experience
- Excellent problem resolution skills
Desirable:
- Experience in the development of highly available software applications
- Experience in the development of high performance / real time software applications
- Experience in messaging SMS/MMS/WAP protocols and web applications (Jetty/Jboss)
- Experience in Oracle or MySQL databases
- Experience in shell and Perl scripting
- Linux/Unix experience
Skills and Competencies
- The nature of the role requires a flexible attitude and strong problem solving and research capabilities.
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively within a multicultural team.
- Good oral and written communication skills are required as there will be a need to liaise with staff in other parts of the R&D organisation, staff in Support, Product Management, etc..
Special Features
- The role will normally operate within standard office hours, but at times additional hours may need to be worked in order that deadlines, project and business needs can be met.
- Airwide’s standard compensation policies would apply.
- Although rare, there may be occasions where there is a need to travel for short periods (days) of time.
