Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyse and investigate calls escalated by the Customer Support and Deliveries teams.
  • Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting.
  • Liaise with other teams and third-party software suppliers to ensure the timely resolution of technical issues.
  • Produce and test code revisions to fix bugs found in live versions of the code.
  • Document, test and release new revisions of software to local offices.
  • In response to customer Change Requests, develop new product features from initial design to final testing and release.
  • Produce and maintain software tools related to the technical support, monitoring, installation or testing of Airwide Solutions’ software products.
  • Assist in the improvement and maintenance of both technical and non-technical procedures, and ensure that technical information is made available to other staff
  • Perform peer code reviews
  • Other duties and assignments as required and agreed upon.

 

Qualifications & Experience - Intermediate position

Essential: 

  • Minimum of University degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Telecommunications and at least 3 years’ related experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of SS7, mobile telecommunications, GSM, IS41
  • Solid experience in C programming
  • Experience integrating with industry standard protocols, e.g. TCP/IP, SMPP, COPS
  • Working knowledge of LDAP databases
  • Working knowledge of Unix (Linux and/or Solaris), including installing and configuring products to run on Unix-based systems, troubleshooting applications running on Unix and scripting.

Desirable:

  • Experience with real-time development
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools, preferably to include CM Synergy, ClearCase and ClearQuest
  • Knowledge of Cloudmark security products

 

Qualifications & Experience  -  Senior position 

Essential: 

  • Minimum of University degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Telecommunications and at least 5 years’ related experience
  • Expert in data warehousing, ETL and MySQL databases
  • Solid knowledge of OO concepts and C++ programming
  • Experience in Java and Perl
  • Working knowledge of Unix (Linux and/or Solaris), including installing and configuring products to run on Unix-based systems, troubleshooting applications running on Unix and scripting.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Talend and Jaspersoft products
  • Experience with development of web interfaces, GUIs and HTML
  • Knowledge of ClearCase and ClearQuest
