Deliveries Engineer (Intermediate / Senior)

Location: Montreal (Longueuil), Quebec

Duties and Responsibilities

As a Deliveries Engineer in the Americas Operations team, you will be responsible for installing application software and third party software products, as well as providing on-going technical support to Customers and engineers performing on-site installations and upgrades. You will be reporting to the Operations Manager.

• Prepare for and perform on-site and/or remote installations/upgrades of Airwide Solutions application software and relevant third party products leading to acceptance.
• Write system specifications, upgrade procedures and test plan.
• Produce necessary documentation for the Operations team and Customers.
• Respond and analyze customer enquiries.
• Perform remote diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Perform maintenance activities on Customers’ systems during their maintenance windows.
• Liaise with other teams (R&D, hardware and third party software support teams) to ensure the timely resolution of technical issues.
• Carry a 24h pager for scheduled periods of time and travel to customer sites 25% of the time.
• Other duties and assignments as required and agreed upon.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 4 years experience
• Minimum of University degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
• Experience in installing, integrating, supporting software or hardware solutions is a plus.
• Knowledge of messaging products (SMSC, MMSC, gateways).
• Knowledge of Sun hardware/software is an asset.
• Knowledge of database system (Oracle/Sybase) is an asset.
• Knowledge of IP networks, Cisco router configuration is an asset.

Skills and Competencies

• Must possess excellent time management, organizational and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of UNIX including installing and configuring products to run on UNIX based systems, troubleshooting applications running on UNIX and scripting.
• Experience integrating communication protocols.
• Knowledge of telecommunications and/or communications protocols (ie: SS7classic and SIGTRAN, TCP/IP, SMPP, SMTP).
